When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness or injury the world stops in an instant; nothing matters but healing that child. To get the best specialist medical care for their child, a family must often travel far from home and stay for weeks, months or even years. During this difficult time, families not only struggle to support their sick child; they have to care for their other children, keep their jobs, pay bills, and maintain some degree of normal family life.

And while we may not be able to make the medicine taste better or erase the pain of a much-needed treatment, still we can help lessen the burden for nearly nine million families each and every year. However,
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) believe when you change a child’s life, you change a family’s, which can change a community and, ultimately, the world.

As pioneers of providing family-centered care, RMHC strives to be part of the solution in improving the lives of children and their families, providing programs that strengthen families during difficult times.
Since 1974, their network of local Chapters have been making children happier and healthier by keeping families together – giving them a place to rest and refresh. A place that feels like home. These programs, tailored to meet the urgent needs of each community, can now be found in more than 62 countries and regions across the globe.

Now,  RMHC is corporate with Rumah Sakit Cipto Mangunkusumo (RSCM)  in Salemba and RS Fatmawati to support the childern. They also have Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. You can also support this campaign #StripesForLove RMHC, simply by:

Fun Fish Trip on Taman Akuarium Air Tawar

Sad news that Ancol effectively sealed Sea World off from public access. The problem is that Sea World’s contract at Ancol began in 1992 and was supposed to end in June 2014. But the marine recreation company kept operating beyond that.

However we still have alternative destination to enjoy the fishes. Yes the famous Taman Akuarium Air Tawar. The aquarium park is inaugurated on 20 April 1994. Featuring more than 6000 animals of 126 species, are of various kinds, both of the various waters of Indonesia and around the world, including aquatic plants, reptiles, crustaceans, and fish.

This aquarium park has a museum, library, auditorium, aquarium archipelago, reptiles corner, hallway carp, and built quarantine room at the rear to accommodate the collection and breeding of the farmers who could be traded to the visitors, the general public, reservoir fish, and exporters.

Some special collections that come from freshwater native Indonesia include Arowana / Siluk (Scleropages formosus), shark saws (pristis Microdon), Tapah (wallago leerii), chopsticks fish, puffer fish which can swell up like a balloon, and others. in addition, there is also a collection of fascinating species of fish living include Arapaima (Arapaima gigas), piranha (serrasaimus) of the Amazon river in amertika, blind fish, butterfly fish, chinese high fin fish (myxocyprinus asiaticus asiaticus) of the Yangtze River-china, as well as groups of small fish guppy, molly, and platy.

The aquarium is home to the students and the general public to conduct the research and observations related to the development of science and business opportunities of ornamental fish.

The Aquarium is well maintained although it is not treated special anymore. You can see that it is well managed and the fishes are taken care. My favorite fish is electric eel. It is so big and It is capable of generating powerful electric shocks of up to 650 volts, which it uses for hunting, self-defense and communicating with fellow eels.

Massimo Bali : Gelato First!

It was a hot holiday when I visited my homeland Bali on last week. Me and my husband decided to held our daughter's ceremony in Karangasem, Bali. The ceremony is named Otonan and it should be held every 6 month in order to grateful for God bless for her. This is our first time go home together and after the ceremony done we went to Sanur to  try the best gelato in bali.

We try gelato on Massimo Bali, the best Italian restaurant according to my sister in law. I think she is right! The gelato and food taste good and it is not so expensive. You can eat Gelato only for IDR20k. Promise me it won't happen in Jakarta. The selection of ice-cream and gelato out the front are amazing and will catch your eyes. Some flavours available too including cannoli, tiramisu, coconut and apricot, make sure you leave room to treat yourself to dessert as well. I promise it's hard to decide which flavor to pick on your cone. Finally I choose Pistachio to cheer up my holiday in Sanur.

The Restaurant has a lot of home-made pastas, pizza, fresh salads, antipasto, and quality ingredients including good bread, olive oil and real buffalo mozarella are the order of the day. They also has kiddies menu with kids meal options, colouring in menus and crayons passed over on arrival, ample space for larger groups, prams and multiple kidlets and highchairs for the littlest ones too.

You can choose to sit out the front in the courtyard and watch the activity of the pizza oven and crepe station, or in the main open air restaurant, or the smaller enclosed air conditioned room at the back. We choose to sit out the front so we can play with little kitten in the yard. That's fantastic experience to have a family dinner in there.

Glorious: The Singles 97-07 by Natalie Imbruglia

2:57 AM 0 Comments A+ a-

Natalie Imbruglia had been my favorite singer since I was 10.  I still  remember her her full-length debut, the track "Torn" was issued in 1997, and no one could have predicted its wild success. The single spent a total of 14 weeks at number one, sold over a million copies, and broke the record for most airplay in U.K. history. Her debut album, Left of the Middle, was a major hit in Australia, the U.K., and the U.S. upon its release in early 1998. Follow-up singles "Wishing I was Here" and the album's title track did moderately well, but never achieved massive success like "Torn."

Born in Sydney, Australia, on February 4, 1975, Imbruglia was a teen actress and landing a spot on the Australian soap opera Neighbours, Imbruglia decided that she would rather be a singer, and moved to London in 1996 to try her luck. After whirlwind praise, Imbruglia disappeared for the rest of the '90s. She found herself battling writer's block while trying to compose material for a sophomore effort, but finally succeeded and, in 2001, released White Lilies Island in the U.K. The album's debut single, "That Day," was a favorite among radio play. However that song is not my favorite. I like " Wrong Impression" much better.

A nearly four-year wait preceded the release of Counting Down the Days. Alongside Coldplay's "Speed of Sound" and James Blunt's "You're Beautiful," Imbruglia's song "Shiver" was nominated for the Ivor Novello Award in the PRS most-performed work category in 2006.

Now her record company, BMG, released this greatest-hits compilation to sum up her career to date and also move into the future with a smattering of new tracks not previously on the three albums

Book Crush : The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce

12:44 AM 0 Comments A+ a-

The story begin when Harold Fry leaves home one morning to post a letter, with his wife hoovering upstairs, he has no idea that he is about to walk from one end of the country to the other. He has no hiking boots or map, let alone a compass, waterproof or mobile phone. All he knows is that he must keep walking. To save someone else’s life.

During his time on the road he reflects on his past relationships with his parents, his son and his wife. He remembers both the difficult and the positive aspects of these relationships. Walking also lets him think of new possibilities for a different future.

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry has become a best seller because readers identify with its protagonist. We all have times when we feel like we are ‘just putting one foot in front of the other.’ Harold helps us see that in carrying out that very act we have the power to change our lives, build rewarding relationships and look forward with hope.
